6,345 crore last year, an 80% increase compared to the previous year, indicating the financial benefits of these changes. However, there has been no official announcement regarding the change in train designations or fares. This practice of converting passenger trains to express specials has been ongoing since April 2021, with South Western Railway converting 20 passenger trains into express trains with premium fares. The Railways have also decided not to run passenger trains beyond 200 km. The South Western Railway has restored pre-Covid fare structures in its zone following complaints about the hiked fares.

April 2021 se hi passenger trains ko express specials mein convert karne ka trend chal raha hai, aur South Western Railway ne 20 passenger trains ko express trains mein convert karke unme premium fare laga diya hai. Railways ne ye bhi decide kiya hai ki 200 km se zyada dur tak passenger trains nahi chalayenge. Hiked fares ke baare mein complaints aane ke baad South Western Railway ne apne zone mein pre-Covid fare structure restore kar diya hai.

Railways are bringing up BNC as starting point for these odd trains. Frequency should be hourly round the clock.
But how people from west/ south Bangalore will reach BNC? No direct buses from Kengeri/ Vijaynagara/ Rajajinagar/ Magadi road/ Jayanagar/ JP Nagar/ Kanakapura road/ Banneerghatta road/ Koramangala/ Sarjapur road etc. Dedicated BMTC bus services can help. Else this effort will be a flop.

Few of these should come from Kengeri, Mandya and even Mysuru, Tumakuru, Hassan, Kolar to KIAD Airport. It will help commuters.

Both railways and road transport authorities (KSRTC, BMTC) should work out proper plans for airport travellers.
To travel to Mysore, you have Flybus. What about Tumkur or Hassan or Hosur? Or even Chikkaballapur, Doddaballapura? Not even a single bus run by KSRTC or BMTC. Why can't few Sarige buses to Tumkur/ Hassan/ Mandya/ Kanakapura/ Hosur? or Rajahamsa buses to Hassan/ Shivamogga/ Chikmagalur/ Anantapur? AC bus to Tirupati will be a big hit. One has to go via Majestic adding to the big Majestic mess, just for changing a bus.

not ordinary BMTC or KSRTC to Chikkaballapura or Doddaballapura?
Similarly, there should be atleast one train from Hassan, Tumkur, Hosur, Salem, and Shivamogga, Anantapur, Kolar, Bamgarapet etc, apart from few dedicated local services from SBC WFD KJM KGI YPR.

This will benefit passengers travelling to the airport from West or north west Bangalore

In some forum discussion I also read that 07321/2 Sur - Dwr - Sur passenger will be extended to Ava(Dandeli) and get converted to Express. May be not considered for now.
