Patna Junction history: कैसे हुआ था पटना जंक्शन का निर्माण, पहली ट्रेन कौन सी चली थी? पढ़ें इसका दिलचस्प इतिहास

Patna Junction, established in 1862, holds immense historical significance. Initially, the British transported raw materials and finished goods from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to Kolkata via the Ganges River, then shipped them to England. In 1853, the idea of a railway service in Patna was conceived to facilitate goods...

transportation. Construction of Patna Junction began in 1855 and was completed in 1862, named as Bankipur. Two railway lines were built from Bankipur to Deegh Ghat and Patna Ghat, connecting Varanasi and Kolkata. The train was initially pulled by animals. Patna's strategic commercial importance led to the construction of the Patna Railway Station, connecting Deegh Ghat and Patna Ghat for goods transportation. Later, work began on laying railway tracks between Patna and Howrah, and Patna and Varanasi. To facilitate smooth goods transportation and passenger travel, the British started constructing railway bridges across major rivers to establish a railway line between Patna and Howrah and Patna and Varanasi. In 1862, a 1.44 km long rail-road bridge was completed and inaugurated on 4th November, 1862. Similarly, a 554-meter long rail bridge was completed in 1861 over the Punpun and Kiul rivers near Fatuha. Within a few years, goods transportation from Patna began by train. The construction of the Rajendra Setu near Hathi Dah, Mokama, was started in 1856 to connect South Bihar and North Bihar by rail. It was completed in 1860. Before independence, the East Indian Railway introduced the Lal Quila Express for the general public. This train made its first trip in 1866 but initially, public travel was not allowed. Later, it was opened to the public. It had third and second-class compartments and travelled at a slow pace, stopping at 67 stations, reaching Delhi from Howrah in approximately 40 hours. It was discontinued on June 30, 2014. The British initially started the rail service for goods transportation and security purposes and not for the general public. Passenger train services were gradually introduced later. Before independence, the Maharaja of Darbhanga started a private rail service for his own travel. After independence, the Janata Express, consisting of only third-class compartments, was launched on October 1st, 1948, running from Patna to Delhi. Later, this train was extended to Howrah and it started running from Howrah to Delhi via Patna. Due to its slow speed, it was discontinued on August 1st, 2014. The Patna-Gaya railway line was constructed to connect the Grand Chord line from Patna to Gaya. This line was used to transport goods and later, passenger trains from Patna to Gaya and Ranchi started operating. The entire line was electrified in 2003 and double-tracked as well. The Danapur Railway Division was established in 1925 to control the trains running on the Eastern Railway. Its building was completed in Danapur in 1928. At that time, Danapur Railway Division was started along with Howrah, Visakhapatnam, and Sealdah. It was under the East Indian Railway from 1925 to 1952, under the Eastern Railway from 1952 to 2002, and then under East Central Railway after its establishment in 2002. More than 300 long-distance and passenger trains pass through Patna Junction every day.

Patna Junction, 1862 mein start hua, bahut important hai. Pehle, British log Uttar Pradesh aur Bihar se raw material aur finished goods Ganga nadi ke raste Kolkata le jaate the aur waha se jahaaj se England le jaate the. 1853 mein, Patna mein train service start karne ka idea aaya, goods...

transport ke liye. Patna Junction ka construction 1855 mein shuru hua aur 1862 mein complete hua, iska naam Bankipur rakha gaya. Bankipur se Deegh Ghat aur Patna Ghat tak do railway lines banayi gayi, Varanasi aur Kolkata se connect karne ke liye. Pehle train ko animals khinchte the. Patna ka strategic commercial importance ki wajah se Patna Railway Station banaya gaya, Deegh Ghat aur Patna Ghat ko goods transport ke liye connect karne ke liye. Later, Patna aur Howrah, aur Patna aur Varanasi ke beech railway tracks lay karne ka kaam shuru kiya gaya. Smooth goods transport aur passenger travel ke liye, British log bada bada nadi par railway bridges banaane lage, Patna aur Howrah, aur Patna aur Varanasi ke beech railway line banane ke liye. 1862 mein, 1.44 km lamba rail-road bridge complete hua aur 4th November, 1862 ko inaugurate kiya gaya. Isi tarah, Fatuha ke paas Punpun aur Kiul nadi par 554-meter lamba rail bridge 1861 mein complete hua. Kuchh saalon baad, Patna se goods train se bhi bhejta shuru ho gaya. South Bihar aur North Bihar ko rail service se connect karne ke liye, Mokama ke Hathi Dah ke paas Rajendra Setu ka construction 1856 mein shuru kiya gaya. Yeh 1860 mein complete hua. Aazaadi se pehle, East Indian Railway ne Lal Quila Express start kiya, aam janta ke liye. Yeh train pehli baar 1866 mein chali thi parantu pehle public ko travel karne ki permission nahi thi. Later, isko aam janta ke liye open kiya gaya. Isme third aur second-class compartments the aur yeh train dhimi raftaar se 67 stations par rukti hui lagbhag 40 ghante mein Howrah se Delhi pahunchti thi. Isko 30 June 2014 ko band kar diya gaya. Pehle, British log goods transport aur security reasons se rail service start kiye the aur aam janta ke liye nahi. Passenger train services aage chal kar shuru hue. Aazaadi se pehle, Darbhanga Maharaja ne apni private travel ke liye rail service start kiya tha. Aazaadi ke baad, pehle October 1st, 1948 mein Patna se Delhi ke liye Janata Express start kiya gaya. Is train ke saare compartments third-class ke the. Later, is train ko Howrah tak extend kiya gaya aur yeh Howrah se Delhi ke liye via Patna chalne lagi. Pura line 2003 mein electrified kiya gaya aur double-tracked bhi kiya gaya. Danapur Railway Division 1925 mein establish kiya gaya tha, Eastern Railway par chalne waali trains ko control karne ke liye. Iska building 1928 mein Danapur mein ban kar ready ho gaya tha. Us waqt, Danapur Railway Division Howrah, Visakhapatnam, aur Sealdah ke saath shuru kiya gaya tha.
