Indian Railways is implementing temporary changes to train schedules from June 3 to June 9, 2024, to facilitate infrastructure improvements in the Kharagpur Division. (June 5). Several Howrah-Midnapore EMU Locals will be short terminated at Kharagpur (June 4-9), and the 08680 Adra-Midnapore MEMU Special will be short terminated at Godapiasal (June 3-7). Some Midnapore-Howrah EMU Locals will have short originations at Kharagpur (June 4-9), and the 08680 Midnapore-Adra MEMU Special will originate from Godapiasal (June 3-7). Two trains will be diverted on specific dates: the 18627 Howrah-Ranchi Express on June 4 via Tatanagar-Purulia-Kotshila, and the 22611 MGR Chennai-New Jalpaiguri Express on June 5 via Tatanagar-Asansol. Passengers are advised to check updated schedules and plan their travel accordingly.

But the article here clearly states that the automatic signalling might be at blame here, why has the motorman being suspended!
A motorman holds the rank of a senior loco pilot,and given the fact how quickly EMUs stop and start , error on their part, that too in broad daylight is very very rare!
