Kanpur Metro at peak time. :p There were like 3 people in the 3 coacher train. When I purchased tickets from Rawatpur station, there was no passenger at the station waiting to board in either UP/DN direction. Which is a shame because on the roads, there are enough folks to fill 3 coaches. Maybe, the high price of the metro deters them.
Eithercase, the metro starts from IIT Kanpur and at Motijheel. Maybe if it connected the main railway station, it would get better patronage. I had to get a direct...
more... auto from Kalyanpur to CNB and it was crowded, plus took more time than what a metro system would have taken.
Lucknow metro also suffered from similarly poor attribute when it was opened in only the airport-railway station section. Now despite still being a single 20+ km line, it gets okayish patronage and sometimes, all the seats are even filled [like when train comes and there's a spike in pax]. Hopefully furthur branches/lines on both Lucknow and Kanpur Metro will help them get better throughput.
