Charbagh is at City center and equally accessible to all as well it has good connectivity from every part through local auto/tempo routes, buses and Metro whereas Gomati Nagar lacks of transportation facilities. You have to book Ola, Uber or have to pay high auto prices.

Yes, it's a bad idea.
From Monday to Wednesday I was living in Hotel Savvy Grand on Lohia Path, Vibhuti Khand. My Regional Office was nearby.
Auto waalas outrightly demanded minimum of 80 rupees just to cover a distance of 2 kilometres from Indiranagar Metro Station to Hotel Savvy Grand. Only after I told them, "Naya samajh rakhe ho kya ?" They settled for 60 rupees, which is still a lot.

Station tak pahuchte hue toh loot lenge.
Even Badshah Nagar would've been better connectivity wise. Presence of Metro Station besides keeps the prices of Auto and Cabs in check.
In case of Gomatinagar they'd have full monopoly.
RAILFAN People of Lucknow need to understand, Gomatinagar is not Delhi Cantt and Patna is not Jaipur with excessive traffic. There's already less incentive for people to choose this Vande Bharat due to longer route and slower timing. Add that to inaccessible condition of Gomatinagar currently, you'd have trouble.

I'm a regular traveler in EC of Vande Bharat Trains and Shatabdi Trains, you can verify same from my blogs.
Let me assure you "Posh People" don't have time to waste on trains ЁЯШВ. Please ask someone actually traveling in Higher Classes of trains whether he's going to a Railway Station for connectivity or to bask in the "peaceful ambience" of the station after paying Daylight Robbery Charges for Auto and Cabs.
We can very much survive the Piss Smell nearby Rail Coach Restaurant of Charbagh, if a Station provides reasonable connectivity.

I'm arriving in Afternoon at Somewhere, I should be able to interchange easily. That's the basic rule of People actually traveling in Higher Classes of Premium Trains.
I had a Cab Booked for a Sitapur Round Trip through my company still I chose to go through Auto from Hasanganj as crossing Streets would be easier given traffic on Main Road. Time was 10 PM. Train was Lucknow New Delhi AC Express.
Reached in 20 minutes. Paid him 100 Bucks he demanded plus a Tip of 50.

Maybe living in Goa, I'm desensitized with auto and can fares.
Here we pay minimum 200 to go from station to flat which is only 4kms, that too in shared cab or two wheeler. If you book a cab for yourself, it'll start at 6 700.

Mopa to Panaji is almost as much, sometimes more than their airfare.

I have gotten used to it, so when I go home in UP, I wonder how the hell is commutation so cheap, like I used to give 20rs from Polytechnic to Charbagh. Noway that's happening in Goa.

Also if I go to lucknow now, I'll probably end up paying more because I wouldn't know market rates and it will still be cheaper than Goa.

Even in Pune or Mumbai I was paying abnormally high fares all year round.
Only when I got to visit Rewa during Holidays I realised how cheaper Local Commute can actually be.
Goa is a different ball game altogether due to Cartel Like Monopoly of Cab Drivers.

Therefore a Terminal like GomtiNagar located in a relatively Outer area of a City like Lucknow having No Direct Metro Connectivity poses a serious issue as it allows Auto and Cabs to behave like they're in Goa.

Would never make the mistake of depending upon trains in Patna area. Woh area train ke hisaab se ek baar ke liye hi kaafi tha. June 2023 se 2 baar Patna area gaya hoon, everytime used Flight+ Taxi combination. AC Coaches Trains in Buxar- Patna- Kiul or Patna- Hajipur- Muzaffarpur - Darbhanga Sections is not for People trying to prefer comfort especially in Daytime.ЁЯлб ЁЯШВ
