Disagree:Bad suggestion.
For Benefits of North Goa Ministry of Railways should extend All 3 SCR Trains 17419/20 , 17021/22 & 17039/40 upto SWV with halts @ MJO for VSG Passengers, KRMI, THVM & PRN without obstructing MAO Dep Time.

90% Passengers and Tourist, Pilgrims getting down @ MAO.where they need to hire Cabs to Travel to North Goa which are very costly in Goa and Majority beaches, Resorts , Clubs located in North Goa including New Manohar International Airport ( MOPA ). VSG is very less Populated and Trains from MAO almost going Empty to VSG.
This will ease Traffic Movement @ VSG for SWR in morning Time and By extending SCR Trains will get Benefited to All over Goa including Tourist & Pilgrims.

Vasco to Majorda section will be doubled in a couple of years fully there is basically no benefit of extending this train to Karmali which doesn't even have proper terminal facilities and most probably will be a single line territory for fairly long time.
Vasco urban area has a population of more than a lac and its naive of you to think that no one from Vasco travels in trains.

Top 10 highest revenue earning Railway stations for SWR and without people from Vasco travelling it's not possible that it achieves such high revenues.

Besides who told you that trains coming to Goa are only for tourists coming to visit Goa and not for Goans to travel to the places where these trains come from ?
Also Karmali without tourists is nothing in comparison to Vasco and Madgaon because it's just a small rural area. Many MAO bound trains too get fully empty at Thivim and Karmali so should they be short terminated at Karmali too ??

Its my personal opinion that IR should introduce atleast one First AC coach in all the trains which are running 2500kms+ and/or 36hrs+ one journey mandatorily alongwith other ameneties complimentary like toileteries and shower card facility onboard included in the 1st AC ticket fare for passengers. Just like in Japanese Railways and Amtrak provides for its passengers. This will really improve the image of Indian Railways' long journey trains which deserve some "hospitality" revamp and improvements.

They already don't earn enough from First Class AC coaches, it has mostly been just for rich folks maybe tourists. Also, if we think about installing showers etc, we should also be concerned about the sanitation conditions outside the train, which aren't ideal and, the sanitation of the water used in trains, which many don't trust. But I do agree atleast H1 or HA1 should be there for most high demand trains. Main contender for this coach is Kerala SF in my opinion. Also many NFR trains bound, especially most of the south bound weeklies, Brahmaputra Mail, to name a few, do not have HA1 for reasons that are not known. I'm sure the patronage would be good.

Another accident. Another derailment happened today. Major accident, LHB coaches climbed one above another and also fire in LVP. Our ACCIDENT SPECIALIST RAILWAY MINISTER will still not Resign. Still greedy RM will hold his chair after so many accidents in his kitty in the history of IR.

A couple of similarities be noted about this accident:
1. Last year on the same day and around same time, NorthEast Express derailed at Raghunathpur station. The train was full LHB and its coaches toppled in similar manner as Bagmati
2. One of the reasons of collision is said to be signal failure. Earlier, Kanchanjungha express collided with goods train in similar manner and the reason was said to be signal failure. Likewise, Coromandel Express rammed to a goods train standing on loop line couple of years back.

It is high time that Railway starts taking accountability. The morale thing that IR can do is to disclose the information about signal failures, and all the other limitations in advance to public so that people can decide whether they want to take the risk of travelling. But as we all know, no govt no politicalparty would do this as that would question their accountability towards their duties etc. Accountability is the last thing politicians would take.

Chord Line is the alternative to the mainline and has a shorter traveling distance. It has nothing to do with electrification.

Usually chords may be electrified earlier due to high utilization due to short distances. Even the Grand Chord was completely electrified almost 40 years earlier than the Howrah-Delhi mainline.
