jan shatabdis should be derecognized and turned into super-fast intercity type mail express train. jan shatabdi genre of trains were formulated to serve on the lines of shatabdi. to begin with, the trains had catering charges included in fares. but with time, catering has been removed and apart from a few jan shatabdis,they dont even provide a super fast connection between cities. for example a travel from new delhi to chandigarh by jan shatabdi will cost rs.107 with travel time of 4 hrs 30 min and for same pair of stations, himalayan queen takes 4 hrs 42 min with fare of rs.83. so a surplus of about 25% excess and no telescopic advantage in jan-shatabdi too. also a normal mail/express taking just... more...

please think of the passengers this rajdhani will cater to. Huge load. Also lack of trains from vskp to delhi. Just one train and that too 5 days a week. Rest either bi weekly or slip. Vskp has maintainance facilities as well. The coastal andhra will be served. Also no duronto please. Immediates should also benefit. Acc express will not provide catering. i am not saying that the waiting is fake, but Muzaffarpur has more than half a dozen trains running daily to new delhi. Vishakahaptnam has none. Its either few days a week or slip coaches #qw3r

ac express/garib rath would also do, but now gr are no longer introduced(exception-puri sbc gr as it was running as special). Nothing is impossible is what i have studied in my school days. So "it cannot be started" would be incorrect to say as we cant read the future. What i want is A train with catering which serves intermediate passengers too. If it has sleeper coaches, no issues, but catering charges should be included in fare and must serve intermediates too #qw3r
sir, please dont misunderstand me. If a concept is hit(with reference to rajdhani), then why not extend it? I would always prefer a train that has catering included in fares. Even railways are at profit becuse the charges are quite high as to what is served. Also if food purchased in bulk, further reduces the charge. So its a case of all profit. I agree that even muzaffarpur-samastipur(in bihar), jabalpur-indore(in madhya pradesh), madurai-tirupati(in tamil nadu) and pune-nagpur(in maharashtra) also require such and steps might be taken, though gradually in this regard. passengers do board a train does not count for legal permission. I have apologized later for that post of mine. It was incorrect from my part. I had thought it to be partially confirmed but it is a separate waitlisted ticket and he is not allowed to board. If he boards, that is different issue. I was talking about rules, not practice.
