Our Erode Special Correspondent writes:
Erode MP S. Selvakumara Chinnaiyan who represented the demand of the public for continuation of Kovai-Tirupathi Inter-City Express stoppage at Erode Junction to the Board earlier this month, received a communication from the Divisional Railway Manager of Salem Division Shubhranshu to this effect on Friday.
The MP’s letter to the Board said that the stoppage of the day-train that was introduced after sustained persuasion, would put the economically poor devotees to hardship.
“I will shortly approach the Board with a request to accord permanency to the train’s stoppage in Erode,” the MP said.
The Erode Maanagara Mempattu Makkal Sangam has welcomed the Board’s decision.
