Exactly after an Year of travelling in 22406, I decided to write about my experience.
Rescheduled by 6 hour 45 mins. So Dep is shifted to 23:45. On the same day, 12874 was rescheduled to depart at 23:35.
Surprise came when both rakes were shunted. GZB WAP1 #22028 for 12874 & SRC WAP4 #22864 for GR. Both trains departed at their respective rescheduled timings.
Both...
more... trains were stopped in SBB. Time for thrashings. Super Crawler Bhramaputhra Mail was the first to go. Shram Sakti soon followed. Then an NDLS-DDN AC Express. After all this we started after great crawling. Had a 20 mins halt at Dadri. Our train will accelerate, and then comes to a halt. I lost interest in watching and slept off.
Woke up at 03:55 after hearing some noise. Train was stationary and some Pax were boarding. We departed soon and much to my shock we were leaving ALJN!! Which means we took more than 4 hours to do 120 kms. Couldn't sleep for a while, but it seemed something has changed. We were having a superb run. We made it to Tundla Jn by 04:45 and departed soon. I slept off again. Woke up at 07:00, only to find my train is stationary. After 25 mins, we started and came to a halt at CNB!! The RF accompanying me immediatly check NTES & confirmed that We had overtaken Bhramaputra Mail & Shram Sakthi Somewhere in between.
Now both of us were charged up, all ready to see whats up next. We are in NCR, the notorious Bermuda Triangle, so we had no idea what was to come. Started off from CNB at 07:35 and boy the SRC beast & new crew was all charged up.... & so seems the controllers... We had a non-stop run (yes, we didn't stop anywhere in between) till ALD and pulled in at 09:40. In the process we had overtaken Purushottam Exp, an NFR Train (only saw NFR in a coach, it was too fast) and then CNB-ALD ICE.
P.S: Wait for Part 2.
