Why is it that between 8:00 am to 8:30 am it is not possible to book TATKAL tickets online. After 8:30 am the site works but by then the TATKAL tickets are all sold out. Is it possible to find out how many tickets were booked through the railway booking counters and from the public sitting at home. If it is from the railway booking counters then was it done at the supervisors counter or at the public counter. Because something is wrong with the benefit of online booking given to the public.
The point you raised is not totally true, bookings are available on irctc but consider the load factor on the site when tatkal opens,
for booking you must have a good speed net connection & you should be quick to process the booking formalities also, and the time taken may also depend upon the payment method chosen at the time of booking.
Some payment gateways take much time to book the tickets.

regarding booking of tatkal thru irctc, i will suggest 'basil' to go to prs well in advance and be there very early before the counter opens. with irctc, there are some practical difficulties - overloaded systems at 0800am from thousands of prs counters, irctc (lucky few) all over India. Mind it, you are not the only person who is booking for a particular days tatkal ticket. there are so many people trying to book at the same time.
irctc booking has got another problem of payment gateways, for which it takes some time like logging to your bank or cr. card gateway, typing your login, pw & confirmation etc. by that time, so many prs counters accept cash from one...

आज मैने 'बिहार संपर्क क्रांति की मुज़्ज़फर्पुर के लिएe टिकेट निकाली और 8.00 पर मैने पेमेंट गेट्वे पर क्लिक किया और 8.02 मिनिट पर वल/14 आगेई अब बताओ इससे फास्ट क्या हो सकता है मेरा टाइम बिल्कुल ठीक था पर 234 सीट्स कहाँ चली गयी है ये लोचा है ..

aap jaise kahain honge jo aap ka hi train mein sawaar hone chhahte hain. prs counter mein jaada chances hain. 2nd ac tatkal kahi baar mein 0930 hrs ke baad bhi apne liye book kiye ( jab sleeper nahin milte hain aur jaana zaroori hota hain) irctc ke madhyam se. lekhin har baar 2ac mein travel karna bhi mehngi padthi hain.
prs mein try karein or irctc approved travel agent se sampark kariye. thanx
