Grievance Description :
Shri. Suresh Prabhu,
Hon. Minister of Railways,
AND The General Manager,
Northern Railways.
Sir,
Through this portal, I wish to recall a few horrific moments of my travel dated 08.02.2015 onboard 12431 Trivandrum H. Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express from Trichur to Madgaon. We were allotted berths in B9 coach. Our travail started the moment Rajdhani reached Trichur Station and we waited with our luggage to board. The door was locked and blocked by the Pantry Staff by stacking all eatables and food trays in there. Just can’t believe my eyes as to how hygienic the food will be if the food trays are stacked near doorways and toilets. As the train had just a 2 minute halt, we had to run with our heavy luggage to nearby coach and then board the train. We had a hard time in bringing our luggage to our berths through the alley way or passage between two coaches. My Parents both senior citizens were the worst to suffer because of this. TTE came promptly and checked our tickets. When we complained about this issue, he was irresponsive and just said that please board from other opened doors/ coaches. The passage way between the two coaches was also filthy and I presume that it was primarily because the staff had just emptied left over foods on the tracks. There you are announcing cleanliness of tracks and this is what happens in reality. The latches of the toilets were also in broken condition and somehow adjusted for time being. At midnight on my way to the toilet, I spotted that the washbasin was emptied with food leftovers which choked the basin and because of which it spilled all the way to the floor and the Pantry Guys somehow managed to clean up all the mess and restore it in order. The side table in our bay was in broken condition making it difficult for us to keep our breakfast trays. But I must appreciate that the onboard mechanic staff did a very good job of trying to fix it back in place though they weren’t able to. At the time of alighting the same problem recurred, Both the doors of our coach was blocked one by way of stacking of food trays and other by way of accumulating of dirty linen and bed sheets. Once again we made a detour and alighted from the Pantry Car adjoining our coach which interestingly was free from food trays. And to mention the key points, there were waitlisted passengers who boarded our coach and I am sure TTE didn’t bother to alight them off in the next station. In this regard, I wish to know why despite paying such high fares in Rajdhani Trains, we passengers are given such poor service. Is this the way, trains are being run? No caring for passengers in Rajdhani has become a practice now. Even certain Mail/Express trains offer much courteous service. Now I am a loss to understand why should passengers prefer Rajdhani trains. Flights are a better option. I request you to please look into the matter and arrange to do the needful at the earliest.
Thanks and Regards
