Grievance Description : Sir, We want to lodge our strong objection (based on news paper article file attached here) on Railway Board directive to all zonal CCM to allow on board booking of vacant berths in Premium train by adding penalty of Rs 520/- on last booked ticket amount the highest. The move is very customer unfriendly and against all business ethics and well laid norms. When berths are vacant how IR can charge penalty ? It is beyond any reasonable logic. It is true that railway needs money and and by introducing Premium trains they already making huge money knowing fact very well that the fare escalation pattern is neither transparent nor related with vacancy. Even it has no fixed slab which should be linked with available berths. Now this extra 250/- penalty for booking of vacant berths. How a Govt of India arm can act as customer unfriendly manner like this if the press report is correct ? Hope the news is incorrect and suitable instructions will be issued to same large travel community from extra and unjustified monetary burden. Thank You.
