Such a wastage of electrification in Gorakhpur Barauni Section.. Most succesful train with Eloco hardly achieves 25 kmph avg speed b/w GKP KIUL..it would have been better if NFR was choosen for Electrification rather than NER..

Only because of proximity of NER to Ghazipur hence under political influence Electrification was completed in NER-ECR underdeveloped region..otherwise there is no logic of electrifying such tracks which doesnt even have proper soil & Stones to support high speed action..& also Ganga-Ghagra-Kosi alluvial region prone to flood every year this section was never promising to deliver even close to satisfactory speed.

But that will at least help newer trains from NFR to north With Silchar,Agartala,Lakhimpur,Dekargaon,Naharlagun coming in any connection to Delhi or other places will have to touch this route .As ANVT KYQ is also taking this and doing quite Ok

May be the region doesn't support high speed action, but no one can deny the fact that this train has some generous blessings from 'Slack Devta' too!

IR says that it wants to save Diesel. I find the route of Maurya Express quite interesting as it serves stations from many routes.
.
Eg: Bokaro from CIC Route, Dhanbad from Grand Chord Route, Jasidih from Main Line Route, Barauni from GHY-PNBE Route and Bhatni from Siwan - Gorakhpur East UP Route :)

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
