One of my colleague from Mangalore region appraised me about the bus lobby and huge road traffic between SBC-MAQ.
What kind of Gauge Conversion was done in the section! The sectional capacity measured in terms of no. of trains got reduced after conversion to BG. The normal trend is to increase the capacity of converted route by goingfor heavier and longer trains, increase in the no. of trains through better signalling system, increasing the speed and reducing Operational & Maintenance through easing of in curves and gradients to the extent possible.
