Why in few places of West Bengal ₹10 coins aren't accepted?
I tried the same in GNT railway station in SCR. They are not accepting there also. Some false rumor is doing rounds about these 10 Rupee coins
This happened in Meerut during February-March, but now it is being accepted. As per RBI, it is still legal tender. Just make sure it is not fake.
I tried to use ₹10 coins in Durgapur, they refused to accept it. Caught 12019 till Dhanbad where too the story isn't different. From Dhanbad 68020 to Bokaro, none ready to accept in station. My friend coming from Sector 9 used them easily. Same train to Purulia, few stalls accepted and most didn't. I asked there, they replied fear of wide acceptance. One of my mate said the situation is bitterly same in Jamshedpur as well.
I sometime feel to primarily use cashless methods if the network tends to be stable everywhere.:(

Even after knowing the actual truth, sellers still tends to refuse to accept them because of fear.
They may be arrested by Police if reported because they cannot refuse to accept a legal tender as per law. RBI has said those refusing may face legal action.
