* It will be most unfortunate for IR if the current RM, who is taking very good policy decisions in the long term interest of IR (rather than roasting his political chapatis unlike most of his predecessors), resigns. Sacking RM shall ensure that such accidents shall continue to happen as the real culprit responsible for accident shall continue to commit such mistakes again & again. The real culprit responsible for this accident need to be nailed.
* If the accident has happened due to not following the safety protocol as is reported in news, the persons responsible to do that job are the prime accused. Do the media expect RM to stand before hundreds of maintenance activities happening at any...
more... moment over IR network and ensure safety protocols are being followed? The whole gamut of safety procedures, protocols and their actual implementation need to be studied so that the accidents do not happen in future.
* If the accident is a sabotage, then the role/duty of the concerned officials need to be studied.
* Rail Accidents had happened in India since the inception, and no human had been able to eliminate them. Any accusation on Railway accidents should be based on facts and figures of accidents, instead of giving emotional/sensational touch to news. Every year hundreds of rail accidents, thousands of person lose lives in trains/ railway premises.
* Resignation of RM is not a solution, it is immaturity of media which is baying for the RM's blood. It is height of playing with emotions of public aggrieved with loss of life/ injury of many persons in the train accident. If that strict are Indian laws & its implementation, CEO of media house should be sacked for propagating any false news and corrupting the minds of crores of Indians. If sacking RM is the solution, then there will be atleast one new RM every month.
* IR is a team of RM, officials & workers, and the working of IR is a result of their combined effort of discharging their assigned duties. Competence, dedication & integrity of RM is beyond doubt, but there may be thousands of incompetent and careless employees/officials in IR, who will commit such mistakes. They need to be tackled properly, as it has been reported most of the IR accidents is due to human errors. Reports of Rly employees found drunk during the duty is a very dangerous indication, and this must stop in totality, else safe operation of trains is very unlikely.
* RM need to take his due responsibility. Spell out the steps taken by him and IR employees to prevent/minimize accidents. Study safety performance and analyse the data, past accidents, their causes etc so as to identify the real causes of rail accidents. Right solutions need to be found and must be implemented strictly and in right spirit if rly accidents have to be eliminated/minimised.
