Yup. That is ideally the train to be extended. They can shift it to BIDR for maintenance and extend it to MYS for avoiding the TAT. But for some reason SWR has insisted on 12785 extension. About an year ago, when the YPR GR was running with poor occupancy, SCR proposed an extension to MYS to remove the layover problem at YPR and get a better slot. But SWR pushed for an extension of 12785 citing its long layover at SBC and with an aim to decongest SBC.
Now after the addition of dynamic fares, the occupancy of Rajdhani between SBC-SC has decreased considerably (It was a highly preferred train for SBC-SC passengers), so any speed up...
more... or slot improvement is GR is out of the question as it would further eat into Raj's earnings. Hence the proposal for a slightly slower SF. Even if GR or whatever is going to replace it, is extended to MYS, considering that they are based out of SC, it will be useful for RC, Yadgir region to some extent.
