UTKRISHT Upgradation:
To provide better amenities, looks, safety and comfort to the passengers, the railways have decided to upgrade the ICF rakes of various trains to UTKRISHT Standards. Not only the ICF trains will sport a new livery livery, but also include quite a few...
more... new features, which include:
a) The rakes will provide better facilities to passengers, including LED lightings, odourless toilets.
b) The toilets of all the coaches have improved fittings, vinyl wrapping provided at the doorways of the coaches, night glow stickers and Braille signage inside the coaches and new colour scheme.
The unique feature of this Utkrisht Rake is the provision of Swachh Rail Toilet (SRT), which is a hybrid design of bio-toilet system.
Toilet has the advantages of less water consumption, no chocking of the system, complete sealing of odour and maintenance friendly.
c) All coaches of this rake are fitted with energy efficient LED tubelights, panel of LED lights in doorway and gangway, provision of dustbins in the toilets, stickers with 'Go Green' messages, provision of integrated basin-cum-dustbins in AC coaches.
The first ever train to get upgraded to UTKRISHT rake was the deserving 12311/ 12312 Howrah- Delhi- Chandigarh/ Kalka MAIL, which is the oldest Express train running in Indian Railways. Rebuild at a cost of 60 lakh per coaches, Liluah Workshop did a really good work in upgrading the rake of this prestigious train to the UTKRISHT Standards.
Coming to the video, seen here is the late running 12312 Kalka (KLK)/ Chandigarh (CDG)- Old Delhi (DLI)- Howrah (HWH) Superfast MAIL racing past Porabazar station at its maximum permissible speed behind 30300 HWH WAP- 7. And while doing so, it meets the 13151 Kolkata Chitpur Terminal (KOAA)- Jammu Tawi (JAT) Express being powered by 22710 MGS WAP -4.
