Presenting some pictures from my recent trip to Dakhineswar!
Dakhineswar is an relatively important railway station lying on the DumDum-Dankuni stretch of the Calcutta Chord line. A few express trains do halt at Dakhineswar and the station enjoys a good patronage owing to the world renowned Dakhineswar Kali Mandir, which is just a 'stone-throw' away from the railway station....
Reaching the Temple from the station premises have been made much more easier due to the newly constructed Skywalk by the government...
Dakhineswar
...
is also set to become the new terminus of the Line 1 of the Kolkata Metro replacing Neopara in the process...

Picture 1 :- Shows platform number 2.
Picture 2 :- Station board picture.
Picture 3&4 :- More station pics
Picture 5 :- Construction of the metro railway station adjacent to the existing railway station.
Picture 6&7 :- The adjoining skywalk and bus-stand can be seem.
Picture 8 :- The majestic Dakhineswar Kali Mandir.
Pictures 9-15 :- Shows the majestic 'Willington Bridge/Vivekananda Setu' under various stormy skyscapes. I don't think it would be visible in the pic but a train was also been simultaneously crossing the bridge as I snapped this series of pictures.
Pictures 17-24 :- Shows the various moods of the turbulent River Ganga under a stormy Dakhineswar skyline.
Picture 16 :- Bidding the Goddess goodbye....

Na, seriously, nothing has changed :p
Not even the photography, it's only a much better camera on a much better phone, that has compensated for my average photography skills, and I was lucky that the climate was favourable to taking photos :)

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
