My experience:-
On the day of Holi I was travelling in 22957 ADI - VRL Somnath Express till Junagadh as I planned to cover the MG line of Junagadh - Veraval. But in morning, when I got down & as per habit I searched for my spects, which was nowhere in my vicinity as I had left it on my berth in 2nd AC. By the time, I could realize it and retrieve my glasses, train had started to crawl. I calmed down & decided to leave the MG journey...
more... & board the Saurashtra Janta Express to Veraval which was running just 30 mins behind in hope to get my glasses either on stationary train at platform in VRL or in yard. I took a UR ticket for JND - VRL. In the meantime I decided to try Railmadad & lodged a grievance there as it was really hard for me to see without my glasses. Just wrote a 2 line grievance stating the situation & details. & Surprisingly, within next 3 mins, I got a call from Bhavnagar division that escort party in train has been informed & they would try to find it & return if they are able to retrieve it. I was still hoping as it spects are not that prized item for anybody else. & I was just smiling when I again got a call from same person after just 5 mins, that the box has been retrieved with the glasses intact & I could get it from Veraval RPF post & thus the case is closed. (Total time taken - Just 10 mins or so) In next 15 mins, my train came & I boarded the half empty GEN coach & as the train halted at VRL, I took the customary SB, TB pic and ran towards RPF post. A jolly constable present there handed me my glasses after taking a photo of same being received by me & filling a form, which was already filled by him as per the details in Rail madad. He wished me luck for my trip (VRL - PBR - ADI) & the ordeal ended.
