The project includes civil, electrical, signaling, telecom, and other works, making the process faster. The project aims to improve passenger and freight train movement, especially industrial cargo from Neemuch. Currently, the single line carries a 150% load. Doubling will increase the frequency of new trains and reduce journey times. The project allocates 868 crores for civil works, 134 crores for electrification, signaling, telecom, and 4.5 crores for mechanical works. The cost per kilometer is estimated at 8.25 crores. Once completed, the Ratlam-Chittorgarh stretch will have double railway lines. The project includes the renovation of 18 railway stations, 31 major bridges, and 133 smaller bridges. The benefits of doubling include increasing train frequency to over 30, enhancing freight capacity by 50%, enabling quicker transit, allowing for new train services to Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota, and ensuring uninterrupted services in case of accidents or breakdowns.
