Two craters have formed, reaching a depth of about 20 meters. Many families live in the vicinity, and the nearby area has developed cracks, causing distress among residents. They demanded immediate relocation from the BCCL management. The incident also raised concerns about the safety of the nearby DC rail line, which runs through a fire-affected area. Despite the DGMS report citing safety concerns, the line was reopened in 2017 after closure. The Dhanbad MLA, Raj Sinha, visited the site and demanded immediate relocation for the families living nearby. The BCCL CMD assured that a survey team would be sent within two to three days to assess the situation and arrange relocation.

Hole ka size 10 meter ke aas-paas hai aur usse toxic gas nikal raha hai. Do goonth (craters) bhi ban gaye hai, jin ki depth around 20 meter hai. Is area mein bahut saare families rehte hai, aur hole ke paas wale area mein bhi crack aa gaye, jis se log pareshaan hai. Unhone BCCL management se relocation ki maang ki. Is incident se paas wali DC rail line ki safety pe bhi sawal uthaye gaye hain, yeh line bhi fire affected area se hoke jaati hai. DGMS ki report mein safety ke baare mein baat thi, lekin 2017 mein is line ko dobara khol diya gaya tha. Dhanbad ke MLA, Raj Sinha, incident place pe gaye aur families ke relocation ki maang ki. BCCL CMD ne kaha ki 2-3 din mein survey team bhejenge aur relocation ka bandobast karenge.
