The promotion is open to graduate-level railway employees for the Guard position and to ITI and Diploma holders working as technicians in various safety categories for the ALP position. The exam is being conducted after a gap of three years to fill vacancies and improve the grade pay and other benefits of railway employees. The exam will also offer age relaxation for OBC, SC, and ST candidates. The railway zone is actively working towards a safe train operation plan by filling vacancies for ALP and Guard positions. Previously, a survey was conducted to fill vacancies for Station Master, Junior Engineer, Technician, and other positions. Chakradharpur Division has also restructured its running staff to increase the number of loco pilots by 729 in three categories to meet the demand for drivers due to the increasing number of trains.
