led by former minister Sogadu Shivanna, with other prominent figures including MLA's M.T. Krishnappa, Suresh Gowda, and Jyotigamesh, and former MLA Masale Jayaram. They claim that the project was started under the previous Congress government, halted by the BJP, and revived by the current Congress government. They are worried that the project is moving forward without proper land acquisition and government approval. The protesters symbolically threw dirt into the Hemavati canal to express their opposition.

Protest ka netritva former minister Sogadu Shivanna ne kiya, aur isme MLA's M.T. Krishnappa, Suresh Gowda, aur Jyotigamesh, aur former MLA Masale Jayaram bhi shamil the. Unka kehna hai ki yeh project pehle Congress government ke time shuru hua tha, fir BJP government ne isko rok diya tha, aur ab fir se Congress government ne isko shuru kar diya hai. Unko dar hai ki yeh project bina land acquisition aur government approval ke chal raha hai. Protest karne walon ne apne virodh ko dikhatne ke liye Hemavati canal mein symbolically mitti dali.
