4th line project between Chennai Egmore-Beach stations to be completed in August: Southern Railway

The Southern Railway has announced that the fourth line project between Chennai Beach and Chennai Egmore stations will be completed by August 2023. The project, costing Rs. 274.20 crore, covers 4.3 km and was initially scheduled for completion in March but faced delays due to Cyclone Michaung and land acquisition issues....

The construction involves seven small bridges, one large bridge, and piling work near the Cooum River. The project necessitated the suspension of train services between Chennai Beach and Velachery at the Chintadripet MRTS station in August 2023. The Velachery flying train service from Chennai Fort station will also start in August 2023. Commuters have requested the Southern Railway to expedite the completion of the project.

August 2023 mein Chennai Beach aur Velachery ke beech Chintadripet MRTS station par train services suspend ki gayi thi, is project ke wajah se.
