extension, costing ₹910.18 crore, was approved by the Centre on October 23, 2023, following public demand. The 'via duct' portion of the route, spanning 5.519 km from Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi to Mother Teresa flyover in Chinchwad, was awarded to Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd for ₹339 crore. This elevated route will run along the service road from Nigdi to Pimpri. Once complete, the extended line will allow citizens to travel by Metro from Nigdi to Swargate, Ramwadi, and Vanaz. The project will involve track-laying, signal system installation, power supply, and station building, which will be handled separately through a new tender. Construction is expected to begin after soil testing is completed and MahaMetro Executive Director Hemant Sonawane expects the project to be finished on time.

Nigdi ke Bhakti-Shakti Chowk se Chinchwad ke Mother Teresa flyover tak 5.519 km ka 'via duct' kaam Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd ko ₹339 crore mein diya gaya hai. Yeh elevated route Nigdi se Pimpri tak service road pe banega. Jab yeh extension ban jayega, tab log Nigdi se Swargate, Ramwadi, aur Vanaz tak Metro se jaa payenge. Project mein track-laying, signal system, power supply, aur station building ka kaam alag se tender ke through hoga. Soil testing khatam hone ke baad construction shuru hoga aur MahaMetro Executive Director Hemant Sonawane ka kehna hai ki project time pe complete hoga.
