This section is part of the 176 km long New Bongaigaon-Kamakhya via Goalpara double-line project, which is being implemented in phases. The completion of the entire project will significantly improve connectivity and transport links between the Northeast and other parts of the country, benefiting remote areas of Meghalaya.
