Umesh Nagar in the Khagaria direction, connecting to the Barauni-Katihar rail line. Additionally, a 7 km long bypass line from Ratanpur to Munger will also be doubled. This project is expected to improve train services between Munger and Bhagalpur. The project was approved in the recent budget, and a survey was conducted with ₹50 crore allocated for it. The doubling of the line and the bypass will be completed in stages, with the construction commencing soon.

No, majority part of the bridge comes under Munger district. Almost Half part of the Ganges water flow through Munger while another half through Sabdalpur,( BGS) part. So, the ratio of control over bridge may be 60:40 between ECR and ER.
