The project, approved by the Ministry of Railways, is being fast-tracked, and land acquisition is underway. The line uses an existing route and connects to stations already in the South Central Railway's jurisdiction. NTTPS, with a total of eight units, relies on coal from SCCL and MCL, requiring approximately four million metric tons of coal annually.

NTTPS ko directly mines se jodta hai, jisse rakes ka turnaround time aur freight charges kam hoga. Isse NTTPS mein coal stock management behtar hoga aur power generation ka variable cost kam hoga, jiska faida consumers ko milega. Ministry of Railways ne is project ko approve kar diya hai aur land acquisition ka kaam shuru ho gaya hai. Ye line ek existing route pe ban raha hai aur South Central Railway ke jurisdiction mein aane wale stations se connect hota hai. NTTPS, jiske paas total aath units hain, SCCL aur MCL se coal lete hai, jiske liye har saal lagbhag chaar million metric tons coal ki jaroorat hoti hai.
