Indore Junction is also being redeveloped under the scheme, with a virtual groundbreaking ceremony conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February. The 479 crore rupee project is expected to be completed by 2027 and will provide airport-style amenities. The project includes the construction of a seven-story building on platform 1 and a three-story building on platform 4, featuring hotels, shopping complexes, and other amenities. A basement parking facility and an AC booking hall for 1000 passengers will also be built. Tenders for the project were opened on July 2, with 18 agencies participating. After the tender process, approvals, and preparation for train operations, construction is expected to begin in November or December.
