The projects align with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, emphasizing multi-modal connectivity and integrated planning. The new lines will also connect the UNESCO World Heritage site Ajanta Caves to the railway network, promoting tourism. The projects will facilitate the transportation of agricultural products, fertilizers, coal, iron ore, steel, cement, bauxite, limestone, aluminum powder, granite, aggregates, and containers, generating an estimated additional freight traffic of 143 million tonnes per year. The new lines are expected to reduce India's reliance on oil imports and carbon emissions, supporting the country's climate goals.
