Varanasi saw 500 temples submerged in the Ganges, with waterlogging in the streets. Later in the evening, Sitapur and Lakhimpur also experienced significant rainfall. The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 27 districts, with similar conditions expected to persist till August 16th. The rainfall recorded in the past 24 hours was 11.2 mm, 58% above the normal level. Barabanki witnessed the highest rainfall at 61 mm. While the total rainfall from June 1st to August 11th stands at 383.1 mm, it's 10% below the normal average. Professor Manoj Srivastava, a meteorologist at BHU, stated that there is a high possibility of further rainfall, potentially leading to a rise in the Ganga's water levels. He also mentioned that the current flood situation, though arriving earlier than usual, is due to heavy rainfall in the Himalayas.

Kashi mein 500 temples Ganga mein dub gaye, galiyon mein bhi pani bhar gaya. Der sham Sitapur aur Lakhimpur mein bhi achchhi baarish dekhne ko mili. 27 districts mein heavy rainfall ka alert hai, 16 August tak aisa hi weather rahega. Pichle 24 ghanton mein 11.2 MM baarish hui, jo normal se 58% zyada hai. Barabanki mein sabse zyada 61 MM baarish hui.
