The station serves 5.3 lakh passengers daily and saw over 3.05 crore passengers in the previous financial year. Passenger numbers are expected to increase in the coming years.

Chennai Central, India ka ek bada transport hub hai, jiska connection New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata aur Bengaluru jaise bada cities se hai. Station mein 17 platforms hain aur daily 200 se zyada express trains chalti hain. Station pe daily 5.3 lakh passengers aate hain aur pehle financial year mein 3.05 crore passengers ne travel kiya. Aane waale saalon mein passengers ki count aur badhne ki umeed hai.
