swing bridge, was in service for over 100 years before it was decommissioned in 2022 due to instability. A new railway bridge was constructed near the old one at a cost of ₹550 crore, starting in 2020. Currently, the final stage of construction is underway, with the construction of the vertical bridge progressing rapidly. The Divisional Manager's inspection focused on the bridge works, the stability of the vertical bridge, and the progress of the Rameswaram railway station. Due to the ongoing construction of the new railway bridge and Rameswaram station, no decision was made on the opening ceremony. The decision on the removal of the old swing bridge will be taken after the new bridge is operational.

purana railway bridge, jisme swing bridge bhi tha, 100 saal se zyada time se chal raha tha, lekin 2022 mein instability ki wajah se use band kar diya gaya. Iske bad, 2020 mein, purane bridge ke paas ₹550 crore ki cost se ek naya bridge banaya gaya. Ab, final construction phase chal raha hai, jisme vertical bridge ka construction jaldi ho raha hai. Divisional Manager ne bridge ke construction, vertical bridge ki stability, aur Rameswaram railway station ke kaam ka inspection kiya. Naya railway bridge aur Rameswaram station ke construction ke khatam hone tak, opening ceremony ke bare mein koi decision nahi liya gaya. Naya bridge operational hone ke bad, purane swing bridge ko hataane ka decision liya jayega.
