and the railway has begun shifting offices, including the reservation center, to the new building. These offices are expected to be operational by Diwali. A parking area for auto-rickshaws and taxis is being constructed near the RPF police station and behind it, covering approximately 2500 square meters. Construction of 1575 square meters of this area is complete, along with a 420 square meter exit road. This parking area and exit road are expected to be opened to the public within the next 15 days. Once operational, the parking area will accommodate over 200 taxis. Two new platforms, numbered 6 and 7, have been opened at the station, while work is underway on platforms 4 and 5. Platforms 2 and 3 will be closed once work on platforms 4 and 5 is complete. The railway official stated that approximately 45% of the total redevelopment work is complete and is expected to be fully finished by the end of 2026. To minimize disruptions to passengers during Diwali and Chhath Puja, work on platforms 2 and 3 will be completed first, followed by platform 1. Once work on platform 1 is complete, the station redevelopment will be finished.
