suburban railway network by expanding platforms at all suburban stations beyond Thane. The plan aims to allow 15-coach locals to run on all stations beyond Thane by the end of the next fiscal year. Currently, only Dombivli and Kalyan stations have 15-coach local trains on the fast line, with only 22 trips. The growing number of residential complexes at affordable rates beyond Thane has increased passenger traffic. This has led to overcrowding on locals during peak hours. To address this, the Central Railway is exploring the feasibility of running 15-coach trains on the slow line. They are conducting a feasibility study for platform expansion on the slow line between Thane and Kalyan to accommodate these trains. Platform expansion projects between Kalyan-Asangaon and Kalyan-Badlapur are already approved, and proposals for expansion on Badlapur-Karjat and Asangaon-Kasara routes are in the pipeline and will be submitted for approval soon. Currently, the CSMT platform number seven can accommodate 15-coach trains. The Central Railway is considering expanding platforms five and six. In addition to platform expansion, the Central Railway has identified locations near Kurla and Kalwa car sheds to accommodate the additional 15-coach trains. Once platform expansion and other technical work is completed, the Central Railway will be able to convert at least 200 of their 12-coach trains into 15-coach trains, resulting in an increase of approximately 600 coaches. This will allow them to introduce an additional 50 trains.

Currently, sirf Dombivli aur Kalyan stations pe fast line pe 15-coach locals chalti hai, aur sirf 22 trips hoti hai. Thane ke baad affordable rates pe banne wale residential complexes ki wajah se passenger traffic badh raha hai. Is wajah se Dombivli, Kalyan aur uske baad wale stations se travel karne walo ki sankhya din pratin din badhti ja rahi hai. Iske karan, subah aur shaam ke peak hours mein locals bahut crowded hoti hai. Is growing crowd ko handle karne ke liye, Central Railway slow line pe 15-coach locals chalane ki feasibility check kar raha hai. Thane aur Kalyan ke beech 15-coach locals chalane ke liye slow line pe saare platforms ko expand karne ki feasibility study ki ja rahi hai. Kalyan-Asangaon aur Kalyan-Badlapur ke beech platform expansion ka kaam pehle se approve hai, aur Badlapur-Karjat aur Asangaon-Kasara routes pe expansion ke liye proposal pipeline mein hain, aur jaldi hi approve karne ke liye submit kiye jaayenge. Currently, CSMT platform number seven pe 15-coach locals park ho sakti hain. Central Railway platforms five aur six ko expand karne ka soch raha hai. Platform expansion ke alawa, Central Railway ne Kurla aur Kalwa car sheds ke paas additional 15-coach locals park karne ke liye jagah bhi identify ki hai. Platform expansion aur other technical work complete hone ke baad, Central Railway apne 12-coach trains mein se kam se kam 200 trains ko 15-coach trains mein convert kar payega, jisse lag bhag 600 coaches badhenge. Isse additional 50 trains shuru ki ja sakti hain.
