the
caption of this train…!!!
12277 Howrah-Puri Duronto Express negotiating a
curve just befor Santragatchi with SRC WAP4
22641 at its helm.
This is the last run of this train as Non Stop
Train. It was the First Non Stop AC Chair Car Train
between HWH & Puri.Due to lack of Passenger
Patronage East Costal Railways(ECoR) decided to
change this train to a Shatabdi type with Stoppage
enroute as a hope that it will earn more revenue
than this Duronto Concept.
This train got discontinued on 2nd of February
and on 8th of February this same rake started as
12277/78 Shatabdi Express.
One thing to be noted is that this is the First
Shatabdi whose Number is from 122xx instead of
its traditional 120xx Train Number.
Note:-The Locomotive SRC WAP4 22641 is the
same loco which was involved in famous
Jnaneswari Express train derailment. The state
police chief stated that Maoist Naxalites claimed
responsibility for removing a 46-centimetre (18 in)
length of railway track. At 01:30 local time, a train
with 13 carriages passing over the missing track
derailed. The Howrah – Kurla Lokmanya Tilak
Jnaneswari Super Deluxe Express was travelling
from Howrah to Mumbai. The derailed train was
then struck by a goods train travelling in the
opposite direction. At least 141 people died and
more than 180 people were injured. The missing
track was between Khemasoli and Sardiha
stations:- click here

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
