the only solution lies with the WILL POWER of the concerned departments-
-prioritise the sector's need i.e passenger travel and connection to nodal points with good I/C,DEMU,PASSENGER services.but still running long distance trains with good speeds.
-when this single line is burdened with express,special trains consequently the very purpose gets defeated.
-some express trains will definitely be there but should never exceed...
more... a limit.
-complete the patch doubling on war footing.
-complete the alternate NQH-MAYNAGURI ROAD JN-NCBD-NCB stretch as fast as possible so that freights can be diverted,some special ex trains can also be tested.
-there was a old line from changrabandha to burnes ghat............restore and have a BG extension from the present..then a bridge is required over teesta;i guess a RAIL ROAD bridge is required....funds can be arranged from Centre,state,railways,ADB....then the line can join the JPG-HALDIBARI stretch...that would be an entire new connection from NJP to Assam........THIS SOLUTION IS OFF COURSE OF A LONG TERM
-the most important is the implementation of technology,infra red night vision cameras,effective co ordination and constant surveillance;installation of CCTV cameras required.......
