I had travelled in 18048 from VSG last December. The journey, despite being tiring and 18048 being 3.5 hrs late due to unprecedented halts at Guntakal outer, Ponduru and Manguli Chowduar, was worth seeing different scenes of India. The 2AC coach which I was travelling in, barring the erratic water supply in taps between UBL and BZA, was maintained well like the 3AC coaches.

Definitely sure that LHBfication of 18047/48 will help a lot in future with regards to safety and passenger comfort. I have seen many travellers from West Bengal complain...

about the time taken, old ICF rakes, no pantry car service and multiple others (Please see Youtube videos for further details) . Since it is the only train from Eastern India going to VSG, the travellers hope of having the frequency daily like Goa Express instead of 4 days a week.

Another thing, would 3 rakes be sufficient to make 18047/48 run daily ?

Making 18047/48 a superfast express will be a welcome move !

Maybe after doubling the entire route and tripling some stretches, it may be upgraded as superfast.

1. Vasco-Cansaulim (personal observations at Cansaulim rail gate while returning from Colva via Arossim last December, double line was almost ready between Majorda Jn - Cansaulim. Has been commissioned this June).

2. Kalem - Castle Rock (Earthwork between Kalem to Kulem and Tinaighat - Castle Rock stretches were in progress as seen last December).

3. Bugganipalli Cement Nagar - Giddalur

This may sound very weird --

Ginigera Jn -- Raichur Jn NL if wholly constructed can reduce traffic between Guntakal Jn to Ginigera Jn by diverting HYB SC bound trains in the new line. Last December I had seen passenger trains operating between Ginigera to Karatgi. Now the line has been opened till Sindhanur.

LD-BAY section, I believe, is saturated with iron ore goods trains.

For 18047, Although e-catering is available every 200-300 kms at major and some minor stations between KUR-UBL.

Imagine remaining hungry from UBL to MAO from morning to...
