please wait...Translate to EnglishIndore-Manmad train line got the green light, big ups to MP Shankar Lalwani, gonna cost over 18,000 crores. Big win for Indore's train game.
Finally got what we’ve been waiting for, the train line’s been approved by the central cabinet. MP Shankar Lalwani has been pushing for this for 5 years straight.
Lalwani thanked PM Modi and railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav, saying this train line will really boost Indore’s growth and help connect areas in MP that don’t have good train services.
After winning the 2019 elections, Lalwani met PM Modi to ask for this project to get the go-ahead. He met with the railway minister multiple times to make this happen.
This approved project not only connects Mumbai and Indore but also links two districts in Maharashtra and four in MP that weren’t connected by rail yet.
It's gonna cost around 18,036 crores and should be done by 2028-29.
During construction, it’ll create about 1.02 million jobs.
This project is part of the PM Gati Shakti national master plan for better transport and it’ll help move people and goods smoothly.
They’re building 30 new stations, which will help connect areas like Badwani better. This new line will reach around 1,000 villages.
Also, this route promotes tourism in the western/southwestern region of the country by connecting it with central India. Expect more peeps at spots like the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain-Indore area.
The project will also link the Pithampur auto cluster (with 90 big units and 700 small-medium industries) directly to the JNPA port and other state ports. It’ll connect MP’s pearl millet producing districts with Maharashtra’s onion growing areas, and make distribution easier across northern and southern India.
It’s a crucial route for transporting agri products, fertilizers, containers, iron ore, steel, cement, POL, and more. The capacity boost will add about 26 million tons of freight a year. Railways are eco-friendly and energy-efficient, helping hit climate goals, cutting down logistics costs, reducing oil imports (by 18 crores liters), and cutting carbon emissions (by 138 crores kg), which is like planting 5.5 crores trees.
