Flop Concepts
(1) UDAY- overnight AC DD Trsin
(2) Yuva long distance all chaircar train
(3) AC DD- Express train with only ACDD coaches with fare same as normal chaircar trains.
(4) Antyoday- Long distance...
more... premium non ac, unreserved train with higher than normal fare.
Good Concepts:-
AC Express train- is a great concept if trains are operated at 130kmph+ and has 21+ coaches and have good occupancy. It is foolishnesh to operate AC express train with 100/110kmph speed and 15-16 coaches only with poor occupancy. Good thing is there are no flexifares CSTM-BPL-NZM ACSF is one of the best train of IR in terms of speed, priority, facility and cost.
Shatabdi-All AC fastest train to connect large & medium cities for business travellers, rich persons & tourists. But many shatabdies are being operated where sufficient traffic for premium travel is not there. Flexifare has made them a mazboori for people desiring fast travel.
Rajdhani- Fastest connection of national capital to state capitals. Flexifare has made them a mazboori for people desiring fast travel. But large cities where traffic is justified should be the criterion and not just capital city. Non capital Cities like Pune, ST, VSKP, etc deserve to be originating stations for such trains
Sampark Kranti- Supposed to be non ac version of Rajdhani train for poor/ middle class. But the SK trains often do not get the priority & speed they deserve.Non capital Cities like Pune, ST, VSKP, etc deserve to be originating stations for such trains.
JanShatabdi- Shatabi for poor/middle class is a good concept.
No concepts at all:-
Humsafar- All ACIII coach train is not a concept. A good train should serve many classes to be very useful. Higher base fare, Flexifare, slow speed are deterrents which make it just a costly version of GR.
GaribRath-A train to facilitate low cost ac travel so that poor can travel in ac is great concept. But GR very badly fails here due to fact that GR coach with fares just 2-3% lesser than normal ACIII coach and 12.5% more paxs in coach with introduction of Side middle berth is a disaster as compared to ACIII coach of Express train.
Tejas, Gatimaan- are same as Shatabdi Express

(1) UDAY- a night time AC train
(2) Yuva- a long distance all chaircar train
(3) AC DD- Express train with only ACDD coaches, same fare as normal chaircar trains.
(4) Antyoday- premium non-AC long distance train, unreserved ticket with higher fare.
Good Ideas:-
AC Express train- great if they go fast (130kmph+), have 21+ coaches, and full. Pointless if they're slow (100/110kmph) with few coaches and empty seats. CSTM-BPL-NZM ACSF is a top train in terms of speed, priority, facility, and cost.
Shatabdi- Fastest all AC train for cities, business folks, and tourists. Some run where there's not much demand for premium travel. Flexifare made them expensive for quick trips.
Rajdhani- Fastest link from capital to state capitals. Flexifare made them expensive for quick trips. Major cities with enough demand should get these, not just the capital. Cities like Pune, ST, VSKP, etc should start these trains.
Sampark Kranti- Supposed to be a non-AC option for Rajdhani for lower/middle class. They often lack speed and priority. Cities like Pune, ST, VSKP, etc should have these trains.
JanShatabdi- Good option for lower/middle class.
Zero Ideas:-
Humsafar- All ACIII coaches not cool. Trains should cater to all classes. High base fare, flexifare, slow speed make it like a pricey GR train.
GaribRath- Low cost AC travel for the poor is a great idea. GR fails as fares are close to ACIII and more passengers per coach. Bad compared to Express ACIII coach.
Tejas, Gatimaan- similar to Shatabdi Express.
