How Indian Railways and Government gets thousands of Crores when it comes to publicity but then cries that it's facing loss due to non-AC passengers
Today only 136 seats have been booked in Indore - Bhopal Vande Bharat
If we multiply it by 810, which is the cost of end to end ticket of this VB
We...
more... get approximately 1 Lakh 10 Thousands Rupees ONLY!
Now let's take the example of Sampoorna Kranti
It has 3 General coaches
And I'm pretty sure atleast 500 people would be travelling in those general coaches if not more
Cost of PNBE - NDLS - 290
500 × 290 = nearly 1.5 Lakh
Edit (as everyone objected about distance difference)
Varanasi - Lucknow Shuttle superfast express has 1300 General seats and it runs full.
And even if we take only 1000 general seats in consideration
The revenue made by shuttle will be 1000 × 120 = 1 Lakh 20 thousand rupees. Again to remind you it has 6 CC too which I'm not counting.
Fair comparison?
Loss loss rone wale log kahan gaye?? MP me election tha to bina soche samjhe wahan 2 VB chala di. Dono white elephant, total flop
Ye loss nahi kar rahi? Politics ki baat aati hai to Croro aa jate hai. I'm pretty sure if we combine everything (things like operating cost etc etc)
All the three latest VB are causing much more loss than UR coaches of Superfast trains.
Mind you one thing, I've only taken 3 general coaches out of a train and haven't even taken sleeper in consideration.
please wait...Translate to EnglishHow the heck does Indian Railways and the government manage to make billions of rupees when it comes to advertising, but then they start whining that they're losing money because of non-AC passengers?
Today, only 136 seats have been booked for the Indore - Bhopal Vande Bharat train. If we do the math and multiply it by the cost of the full ticket, which is 810 rupees, we're looking at around 1 lakh 10 thousand rupees. Damn!
Let's take another example, the Sampoorna Kranti train. It has 3 general coaches, and I'm pretty damn sure that at least 500 people, if not more, are traveling in those coaches. The cost of the ticket from PNBE to NDLS is 290 rupees. Multiply that by 500 and we're talking about nearly 1.5 lakh rupees. Woah!
But hold up, let me give you another example. The Varanasi - Lucknow Shuttle superfast express has a whopping 1300 general seats, and it's always packed. Even if we only consider 1000 general seats, the revenue from that would be 1000 multiplied by 120, which equals to 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees. And hey, I'm not even counting the 6 CC seats!
Crazy, right? Indian Railways and the government need to get their priorities straight and stop crying about losses when they're raking in all this cash. Just saying...
