The Rani Kamalapati railway station in Bhopal is undergoing renovations. Platform 5 is being extended to accommodate trains with 24-26 coaches, currently it can only handle 22-coach trains. and 5 will be extended by 120 meters to accommodate the halting of two Rajdhani Express trains (Goa-Tamil Nadu and Goa-Kerala). These platforms are also expected to handle the upcoming Vande Bharat express between Pune and Mumbai. Platform 1 and 2 can currently handle 26-coach trains and are 700 meters and 625 meters long, respectively. Once extended, platforms 4 and 5 will also be able to handle 26-coach trains. The extension project is expected to begin soon.

Rajdhani Express jaisi trains bhi halt kar sakengi. Platform 4 aur 5 ki lambai 120 meter badhayi ja rahi hai, jisse Goa-Tamil Nadu aur Goa-Kerala jaane wali do Rajdhani Express trains ko halt diya ja sake. Yeh platforms Pune-Mumbai ke liye aane wali Vande Bharat express ko bhi handle karenge. Platform 1 aur 2 pe 26 coaches wali trains halt kar sakti hai aur unki lambai 700 meter aur 625 meter hai. Extension ke baad, platform 4 aur 5 pe bhi 26 coaches wali trains halt kar sakengi. Extension project jaldi shuru hone wala hai.
