after the German company that first manufactured them, were first introduced in India in 1999. Now produced at the Kapurthala Railway Coach Factory, LHB coaches offer a more comfortable experience for passengers and are considered safer from a railway operation standpoint. They are designed for speeds exceeding 160 km/h, compared to the 110-130 km/h maximum speed of conventional coaches. These coaches also provide more space than traditional coaches. For example, a standard ICF sleeper coach has 72 berths, while an LHB sleeper coach has 80 berths. Similarly, an ICF AC-3 coach has 64 berths, compared to 72 in an LHB sleeper coach. ICF AC-2 coaches have 46 berths, whereas LHB coaches offer 62. This increased berth capacity in LHB sleeper and AC coaches allows for more confirmed bookings for passengers. LHB coaches use hydraulic suspension, providing a smoother and more comfortable ride.

Ab yeh coaches Kapurthala Railway Coach Factory mein banate hain. LHB coaches passengers ke liye bahut comfortable hote hain, aur rail operation ke point of view se, yeh bahut safe bhi hain. Aaj kal ki demand ki baat karein to, speed ke liye yeh coaches normal coaches ki maximum speed 110-130 km/h se zyada, 160 km/h se bhi zyada ki speed ke liye banaye gaye hain. In coaches mein normal coaches se zyada jagah hoti hai. Ek normal ICF sleeper coach mein 72 berths hote hain, lekin LHB sleeper coach mein 80 berths hote hain. Issi tarah ICF AC-3 coach mein 64 berths hote hain, lekin LHB sleeper coach mein 72 berths hote hain. ICF AC-2 coach mein 46 berths hote hain, aur LHB mein 62 berths hote hain. Isse LHB sleeper aur AC coaches mein zyada berths ki facility milti hai, jisse passengers ko zyada confirmed berths ki facility milti hai. LHB coaches mein hydraulic suspension ka use hota hai, jisse journey aaramdaayak ho jati hai.
