Indian Railways is introducing new AC Economy coaches in all Garib Rath trains, replacing existing conventional coaches with modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) rakes. USB charging sockets. The new rakes will consist of 20 coaches, including 18 third AC Economy coaches and 2 Generator Motor cars. The AC Economy fare will be about 8 to 10 per cent less than the AC-3 fare, making it a popular option for budget-conscious travellers. The new coaches are being manufactured at Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, and Modern Coach Factory in Rae Bareli. The new trains will be launched on select routes starting this month.
