project. The foundation stone for the project will be laid by the Prime Minister in Betia, Bihar on Wednesday, following which the work will commence. The Gorakhpur Cantt-Valmiki Nagar rail section connects Gorakhpur-Chhapra, Gorakhpur-Varanasi, and Gorakhpur-Lucknow. Most trains traveling from North India to Northeast India pass through this route. The doubling of this rail section was approved last year and is expected to be completed in three years at a total cost of ₹1269.8 crore.
