On March 12, 2024, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for rail projects worth over ₹85,000 crore across India. This includes the launch of 10 new semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains, including Patna-Lucknow via Ayodhya and New Jalpaiguri-Patna Vande Bharat. The operation of the Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat will be via Gaya. This follows recent inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies by PM Modi in Bihar, where he launched projects worth ₹12,800 crore on March 6, ₹48,000 crore on March 2 in Begusarai, and ₹34,800 crore on March 2 in Aurangabad. These projects include fertilizer factories, gas pipelines, and expressways.
