a record freight loading of 211.60 million tonnes in the previous financial year (2023-24) and this positive trend continues in the first month of the current financial year. The freight revenue also saw a 5.47% growth in April 2024 compared to April 2023, reaching Rs 1547.73 crore from Rs 1467.45 crore. Notably, the SER loaded 4.38 million tonnes of coal from Sardega in the Chakradharpur division in April 2024, a 5.80% increase compared to the same month last year. Apart from coal, the SER transported other commodities like iron ore, pig iron, finished steel, cement, food grains, fertilizers, etc., contributing to the total freight loading and revenue.
