has been established where officials on the Chandigarh-Sahnewal section are informed about the arrival of any freight train at Ambala Cantt station. They then check if any passenger trains are approaching from Sahnewal or Chandigarh. If so, the passenger train is given priority and allowed to pass through the 50km single-track section first. Only after the passenger train has cleared the section, the freight train is allowed to proceed.
