Over the past 5-7 years, numerous escalators and lifts have been installed at Mumbai's stations. Western Railway is modernizing stations under the 'Amrit Bharat Stations' initiative. To reduce waiting lists, new passenger trains are being added and dedicated tracks are being created for freight trains. Modernizing signaling systems and tracks will improve travel times. Currently, around 30-31 lakh passengers travel daily on Western Railway. The 'Mera Ticket, Mera Inaam' scheme has generated approximately 4 crore in revenue for the railway. Additionally, nearly 90 crore has been recovered from ticketless passengers in the Mumbai section.
